ServiceMaster Recovery Systems' Specialty Equipment:
Thermal Imaging
Thermal Imaging cameras are used to evaluate a loss, quickly and non-destructively. We are able to scan walls, floors, roofs, exterior finishes and more. The temperature difference created by the presence of moisture will appear differently than the surrounding area. Monitoring drying curves with our ThermalScan IRC-3000 can greatly reduce drying time. By locating problem areas, simple changes in equipment placement can be made. To reduce liability, at the completion of the job, thermal images can be provided to the customer and insurance adjuster to prove the building has been properly dried.

Dri-force Wall & Cabinet Dryers
The DriForce injects high-pressure air at baseboard level into wet wall cavities under negative pressure. The exhaust is filtered through a HEPA which can effectively dry a wall cavity that may have contamination. It's perfect for hard-to-reach areas like behind cabinets, tubs, under stairwells, and wallpapered walls etc.
Desiccant Drying 2,000cfm-9,000cfm
By utilizing the the Drimax 5005S trailer mounted Desiccant Dryers we are able to dry out large areas faster and more efficiently. A desiccant dehumidifier uses a silica gel rotor to remove moisture from the air. As wet air passes through the rotor, the silica gel adsorbs moisture. A desiccant returns dry air to the affected area and exhausts wet air to the outside of the structure. Since a desiccant does not depend on air temperature to dehumidify, it's an excellent choice for difficult drying situations, multi-story losses and reducing the overall drying time of an environment.
 Media Blasting
Soda blasting is an environmentally friendly way of removing microbial growth, graffiti, paint, dirt, coatings, and other surface contaminants that will not cause damage to the surfaces being cleaned. The soda blaster is a non-abrasive action. The action of sodium bicarbonate will not cause heat build up, sparks, or abrasion to the surface being cleaned.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Ultrasonic cleaning, commonly referred to as precision cleaning has been used by various industries for decades. This method of cleaning is especially effective when cleaning items of intricate detail or unique configuration. The cavitation activity produced by high frequency sound waves cleans contaminated items inside and out. This unique cleaning method when properly applied is ideally suited for fire, smoke, and water damaged contents. A variety of standard and delicate household contents can be easily cleaned using the Ultrasonic especially hard surface items such as crystal, china, ceramics, hummels and ornaments, jewelry, glass and porcelains, etc. Many are unaware that the ultrasonic is ideally suited for safely cleaning electronic components, computers, electrical tools and appliances as well as light fixtures such as chandeliers. Contamination such as mold, heat scale and oxides are easily addressed using the ultrasonic process. Metal parts that have acquired rust as a result of water damage can usually be restored to their original condition.
Dustless Demolition
To ensure a dust free environment during controlled demolition special techniques are executed by our technicians. First, you can expect critical barriers to be set along with negative air pressure to contain the affect area. In addition Kett Saws are used to promote a dust free work space. The Kett saw is connected to a HEPA vacuum which then filters clean dust free air into the environment.
MMS Hygrometer/ Moisture Meters
It is vital during any project to use instruments that accurately monitor the progress of a job. Our technicians use the GE Protimeter MMS Plus to provide daily records of the drying conditions. The MMS Plus system combines three different meter functions into one convenient unit, plus it serves as a data logger. The hygrometer mode, measures the relative humidity, temperature, dew point, proximity to dew point, and grains per pound (GPP) with the modular, replaceable Protimeter Hygrostick. The pin measure mode, use the penetrating pins to determine the moisture content of wood and the Wood Moisture Equivalent (WME) value of other building materials. And the pin less measure, uses non-invasive radio frequencies to detect the presence of moisture without damaging materials.
Concrete Meter
For measuring moisture content instantly in concrete floors and floor screeds without the need to drill or damage the surface.
Screeds and concrete floors must be dry before the floor covering is installed.
- Regular checking of moisture content during the drying out period of a new concrete floor or floor screed is important to ensure it has reached sufficient dryness to accept the floor covering.
- Excess moisture in the concrete could cause latent problems such as condensation or failure of the adhesive under the floor covering.
- The Concrete Encounter 4 will give you an instant reading of moisture content up to 6% concrete; up to 0 - 10 comparative on gypsum screed enabling you to make an informed decisions on when to install the floor covering.
- To use, simply switch on and hold the instrument firmly against the surface. As many non-destructive tests as you need can be carried out in seconds without the need to drill or damage the concrete.
Skipper Meter
The SKIPPER Plus non-destructive moisture meter provides a complete, safe method for detecting excess moisture in GRP and wooden boats. Three scales of sensitivity allow moisture detection in salt or fresh water.
- The Skipper Plus moisture meter detects moisture in wood or GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) by measuring the resistance between two low frequency AC signals transmitted from the soft rubber electrodes on the base of the instrument.
- Because salt water is more conductive than fresh water, the Skipper is fitted with different ranges of sensitivity to allow testing of wood or GRP in either fresh or salt water environments.
- Simply select the correct scale:
Scale 1: Moisture content in hardwood for fresh water (%H20))
Scale 2: Moisture in GRP (Comparative)
Scale 3: Surface Moisture(Comparative)
Internal Relative Humidity Testing with the ASTM F2170
The ASTM F2170 was created to easily and accurately detect moisture and humidity within concrete slabs. This innovative internal relative humidity testing method is used by ServiceMaster Recovery Systems to detect moisture and humidity before it causes a major structural problem. Concrete failures such as debonding and the deterioration of finished flooring can have a detrimental effect on any home or business. In addition, if the concrete coating has been left untreated, microbial growth can occur and create mold, which in turn may affect the health of occupants as well as result in costly repairs for the property owner. Due to its ability to identify potentially damaging structural issues, the ASTM F2170 saves businesses and residents of Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, Orlando, and elsewhere hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in future repair costs.
Mobile Service Manager Inventory Tracking Services
If your restoration project requires that you remove some or all of your possessions before work can begin at your home or business, do not worry. Thanks to our Mobile Service Manager inventory tracking capabilities, Service Master Recovery Systems can assist you with moving your belongings, too. The Mobile Service Manager is a perfect complement to the already well-known and dependable restoration services offered by Service Master Recovery Systems. First, we will coordinate with your insurance claims representative to ensure that all the proper paperwork is filed. Second, will organize and separate those items that will not be moved. Finally, we will label and pack the items that need to be moved and transport everything to our climate-controlled warehouse. Each item will be tracked along the restoration process. If any moved items need to be restored, we will complete the restoration process, cleaning and deodorizing at our facility. The newly restored items will then be repacked. Once restoration and reconstruction has been completed at your premises, we will arrange for re-delivery of your items back to where they belong.
By calling 1-877-2-DRYOUT (1-877-237-9688), agents and adjusters can connect to ServiceMaster Clean. The disaster response center answers calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
